Baked Buffalo Chicken Wings

Posted by Jewel in , ,

These Buffalo Chicken Wings recipe is based on the original recipe.  The original version is fried, but this one is baked.  I prefer the "baked" version.

Ingredients:
36 good size chicken wings (frozen or fresh)
1 bottle Hot Louisiana sauce
1 stick unsalted butter
1 T garlic powder (more, if desired)

Procedure:
  • Preheat the oven at 375F for 10 minutes.
  • Arrange the wings on baking pans.
  • Bake for 45 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, melt 1 stick of butter.
  • Stir in 1 bottle of hot sauce.
  • Bring to a boil. Lower the heat to medium low. Add 1T powdered garlic. Turn off the heat.
  • After 45 minutes, take the chicken wings out of the oven.
  • Turn off the oven.
  • Turn on the oven to broil.
  • Drain the liquid from the baking pans.
  • Dip the wings in the sauce pan with hot garlic sauce. Reserve left over sauce for dipping later.
  • Arrange in baking pans. Return the baking pans in the oven set to broil.
  • Broil 5 to 7 minutes per side.
  • Transfer to serving plate.
  • Serve with salad greens with tomatoes, cucumber & onions with your favorite dressing.
Note: If you want to marinade the wings, do steps 1 through 8, 10 to 11. Let cool for an hour. Transfer to covered bowls & refrigerate overnight. If the sauce turns solid the next day, microwave for about 4 minutes. Be sure to turn the oven to broil for 10 minutes before putting the wings in. Then follow steps 12 through 15.

Marinading makes a lot of difference, but if you’re short of time, the wings are still very good.
